Sinevibes has ported its unique timbre-rich tape wobble simulator plugin Stator for Korg synths with phasing and chorusing to macOS & Windows. Sinevibes from Ukraine is one of the most talented DSP developer companies in the music tech industry. The codes can be found in their own plugins, extensions for Korg logue synths but also in hardware synthesizers like Dreadbox. They recently released a new Korg plugin that features a special take on a tape effect. It adds a vintage, wobbly magic to any sound. This special effect is now also available for macOS and Windows. Sinevibes Stator Sinevibes Stator Stator is a unique tape wobble simulator plugin that uses a creative approach to replicate the effects of speed fluctuations in tape machines. Also known as wow and flutter effects. It also replicates the scrape flutter caused by the friction of the tape against the tape head. The result is a complex speed modulation signal that produces a wide variety of pitch drift and lo-fi jitter effects – similar to the sound of worn-out, unstable audio and video cassette players. Artemiy Pavlov, founder of Sinevibes goes even deeper in the topic. His team has modeled gentle phasing artifacts produced by crosstalk between the stereo channels. This makes the effect more authentic and organic.
Stator also employs individual stereo widening formulas in each of its three modulation components, plus it has variable channel crosstalk for adding chorusing and phasing artifacts – and creating sounds with a truly beautiful vintage vibe.
