The MIDI Association Launches New 2022 Initiatives Hi , It's been a busy start to the New Year at the MIDI Association. We held our annual joint meeting with AMEI (the Japanese MIDI Association) on January 12 and finalized the details of the MIDI 2.0 logo licensing agreement. Our annual meeting with our corporate members was held on January 15 and we reviewed the past year and elected the Executive Board, Technical Standards Board (TSB) and the officers for the company. The organization has grown significantly in the past few years, going from 49 members in 2016 to over 90 in 2022. Athan Billias, designated rep for Yamaha, was elected MIDI Association President for a 2 year term. Lee Whitmore, VP of Education for Focusrite and chair of the MIDI in Education Special Interest Group was elected as Treasurer and Jean-Baptiste Thiebaut CEO of Music Hackspace and founder of the MIDI Innovation Awards was elected Secretary. Kate Stone of Novalia will continue to chair the Exec Board and Rick Cohen of Antares will remain as TSB chair. We then laid our our 2022 strategic plan focused on four major initiatives.
