At the virtual NAMM 2021, Korg presented the Modwave, a new powerful wavetable Synthesizer that is another instrument in their newest digital line of instruments. After a long wait, delivery began in the summer. Today Korg released a new update for the modwave with two big new features. We already know this from the exciting wavestate 2.0 firmware: sample import support (up to 4GB) with sample builder software and a librarian/editor. Korg modwave 1.1 firmware The new firmware adds two major new features to the modwave The first is a new editor/librarian that allows you to tweak the synth parameters in real-time from your mac or Windows. The editor is especially helpful to get a big overview of the entire engine. It also lets you organize and transfer sound data back and forth between the synth and the computer. With firmware 1.1 Korg also opens the sample memory of the modwave, as they did with the wavestate a few weeks ago. You can now import up to 4GB of your own multi-samples into the unit via the new Sample Builder application for macOS and Windows.
